Simulating light sources? Interference...

You could simulate a mirror as several point sources of light. I've made an excel to do just that.

What you basicly do is calculate the distance to the point sources for each point and see what the contribution in each point is for the wave originating in respectiv point source.

Here you can find the calculator to calculate the shape of the sails:

ISS & Moon simulation

A simple Excel sheet to simulate the movements of the moon and the ISS. Nothing fancy, almost no commentary...

Magnetism... A construct?

Hi,

Based on remarks of Feynman in his excellent lectures I'm trying to prove that magnetism is a relativistic effect of electrostatics. It's not so easy...
I've made a first draft (still in dutch): http://www.bozon.org/tweets/magn%20elec%20rela.pdf
And in english: http://www.bozon.org/tweets/magn_elec.pdf

I'm planning on including also the force between 2 wires, etc....
It's not a new idea, but its fun to prove it yourself though...

Lunar camera, does it survive the temperature fluctuations?

Many people believe the moon program was a hoax. One of the arguments is that the celluloid in the lunar camera could not survive the extreme temperature fluctuations on the moon... http://www.bozon.org/tweets/maancamera.pdf

Small conclusion:

Seems no problem! (based on VERY simple math...)

Aim of this blog?
- postings of simple & complex calculations explaining everyday or uncommon phenomena...
- postings of easy tools (mostly in excel) I've developed to calculate all sorts of science...
- To let science triumph over superstition & bias
